Graco XT490 Electric Airless Paint Sprayer 230v

The Ultra 490 XT sits at the point where a sprayer stops being something you hire and starts being something you own. It's a stand-mounted electric airless machine built for full-time decorating — interior walls and ceilings, exterior masonry, joinery and repaints — rather than for occasional use.

The specification that matters

• Maximum tip size 0.025" — enough to spray unthinned emulsion and masonry coatings, not just thin materials. This is the single number that decides what you can actually put through a machine.
• 0.7 gallons per minute maximum delivery, which supports one gun comfortably all day.
• 3300 psi maximum working pressure, adjustable down to 50 psi for fine finish work.
• 1.3 HP motor, 230v supply.

Why the pressure control matters

Airless finish quality is mostly a pressure problem. Too much and you get overspray, wasted material and a dry, rough-looking film. Too little and the fan collapses into heavy tails at the edges of the pattern.

What separates a professional machine from a budget one is whether it holds the pressure you set as the pump cycles. A machine that pulses gives you a pattern that pulses with it, and you'll see it in the wall.

Practical notes

Stand-mounted, so it lifts easily and sits stable on a floor without a cart. Supplied for 230v.

Flush it thoroughly after every use, particularly with water-based materials. Pump wear on airless machines is almost always caused by material left to dry inside them, not by hours on the clock — the machines that die young are the ones that got put away wet.
