Tetrion Mould & Mildew Remover 500ml
Painting over mould does not kill it. It grows back through the new coat, usually within months, and the customer concludes the paint failed.
This is a trigger-spray remover that kills mould, algae and fungal growth and stays active on the surface afterwards.
The two-part job
Killing what's visible is only half of it. Mould leaves staining behind, which the treatment bleaches out — and, more importantly, the spores that started it remain in the area.
This one remains active for up to six months, which covers the vulnerable period after redecoration while whatever caused the problem is being dealt with.
Where it's used
Bathrooms, kitchens, around window reveals, cold external walls, behind furniture, and the corners of unheated bedrooms — the places condensation gathers.
The part that actually matters
Mould is a symptom. If the surface keeps getting wet, it comes back regardless of what you spray on it.
Treat the growth, then deal with the cause: ventilation, heating, or the cold surface itself. For surface condensation specifically, an insulating anti-condensation paint raises the wall temperature so moisture stops condensing there in the first place. For penetrating or rising damp, no paint or spray will help — the source has to be fixed.
Handling
Ventilate the room, wear gloves and eye protection, and keep it off fabrics and carpet. Follow the label for dwell time and for whether the surface needs rinsing before you decorate.
